Our business is about building relationships with quality people. What the books tell you about the value in networking is true. We will want to understand your career strategy, what path your working life has taken and why you are where you are. If you have had five jobs in ten years, we will ask you why…even if you’re a millennial and think it’s normal. A good strategy on your part is to be able to tell us your personal story: what motivates you, where you think you are headed, why you’ve done what you’ve done, your plans for skills development.
If Mindspan believes you are a serious candidate, we will share client detail and meet you for a face-to-face interview. Unlike other recruiters we will not send you to meet a client before we meet and assess your candidacy. Along the way you’ll experience a healthy dose of coaching, perspective and questions. You should expect open, honest dialogue about your strengths and weaknesses. Expect to be asked what personal traits stop you from being a better performer than you are today. We’ll want you to demonstrate both IQ and EQ. You will need to invest time and effort since in this process you’re both the product and salesman. Star candidates make us look good … we hate looking like we haven’t done our job.
While good resumes are table stakes today, part of our job is to separate good people from bad resumes and vice versa. We do not flog resumes and do not act as player agents. If you do not fit the specifications for the candidate profile, we’ll tell you why. If you make it to the interview stage, we will work with the client to deliver timely feedback.
